The Bliss

life is really rough, i know.

but i always believe a well done meal can soothes the soul and prepares it for the next round of tough fight.

went to Hot Jack along Jalan Pasir Puteh this afternoon and the meal cheered me up almost instantly.

i’m not a foodie so here’s a real foodie’s review:

Motormouth from Ipoh

 

what i know is, the honey lemon tea was so authentic and flavourful you can see the pulps.

Also,the Bratwurst,tomatoes and casper tomatoes spaghetti and the Duo Salmon were both exciting combinations that really please the taste buds.

well, thanks to Kyle’s recommendation. (ok i know, going there was a spontaneous decision, double date next round ok?)

it’s not easy to find such worthy meals.

 

other things that keep me going (and hoping) are mails from online purchases.

i waited for it to come to malaysia’s Popular but it never came (until now =_= )

so i chose to buy it online from Eslite 诚品, the famous taiwanese bookstore.

and didn’t regret at all! coz mine was the taiwan published first edition, which has limited edition transparent book cover decoration sticker!

(ha! i know that’s a mouthful but yes!)

the other day i went to Popular again and i saw the comic finally came in. it’s in simplified chinese. but it doesn’t have the limited edition sticker. ahha!

well if you want to know, the literal translation to the comic title is “ can we/i continue to be childish?”

basically it’s about how she sees life in a more humorous and less serious perspective.

i know. it fits perfectly, right?

we all need it.

just got back from it.

alright,not that it is a bad movie..i mean, it IS ‘nice’ and worth to watch..hype plot and all..just that it is such a wrong timing..sorry but kinda like big mistake to watch it today..(not complaining about the company!)

food @ Ipoh is still the best ..haha..

Siblings came back so we went out to dine with Bro’s sponsorship LOL!

and Bro suggested Oh Sushi coz it was cheap and fresh and stuff like that..and i totally have no qualms about Bro being so excellent in maintaining things like ordering dish and entertaining  us, his nonsensical baby sisters LOL!

of course alot of camwhore sessions in between..

out of the four of us, only Bro and i have the courage to take raw sashimi styled food..like tuna, salmon, and the salmon roe..argh!! i want more!!

Bro and i actually even wanted to order the sea urchin  , oysters (YUM!!) and exotic stuff like that but, considering only two of use eating raw stuff and the sea urchin was actually that expensive..we ceased the plan..=p see? im such a considerate sister LOL!

but we did enjoy the enough sashimi we had ..heeee..

but i also learnt that i tak boleh tahan Natto..x_x very stinky to me..urgh..

 

 

p/s: oh and i tried a new trick on my eyes..hehe gave my eyes quite some nice effect..=p guess what is it?? (no, other than fake  lashes..LOL!)

before i forget..

yesterday and today,i went to apply ABC @ DEF , AGAIN..

and this time, the guard did not block me for questioning as i guess, its THE season so everyone was going in and out there..of course it must be the innocent faces like mine xp (excuse me..)

anyway, i got the form for ABC yesterday. when i thought i could settle it and hand it in there, i was shocked by some..erm..procedures..so i had to go back and ask for my parents’ assistance..

the thing is,you ask me to give a copy of my IC, ok.

then why do you still need my birth cert or surat beranak? =.=” lah..HOW OLD AM I?? i have a blue MyKad means im a Malaysian and my parents are Malaysian/married in Malaysia/born in Malaysia lar..=.=”” and you can sure check out my data (like how heavy i was or what time i was born and where =.=”””) in Jabatan Pendaftaran’s database if you suspect me kan..

 

then asked me to provide a copy of JPA’s recognition letter of my IPTS (private Uni/Colleges) course. i then asked the girl yesterday, what was it. she said, dont know la..i think its the offer letter of xxxxx. ok. so i even photocopied the letter of admission and conferment of degree..when i reach to hand in the form today, then only i got to know, i have to go to MQA’s website and print out the details of my course along with its approval status. you guys sure remember the days when the lecturers were so kan cheong with the interviews of us kan? that’s it. then again, why,cant,you, just,go,check,it,out la! aih…..i also can access you cant meh?? =.=

 

the thing is, the girl working there also cant tell me what exactly is that thing..aiyo, same when i ask the McDonald’s waiter: erm, is the promotion still on? he didnt even say ‘dont know’ and just motion and asked me to ask the counter. =.=” oh, so that’s how you answer or serve your clients/customers la? you work for that you dont even know how to answer your clients/customers enquiries..adoi..

 

 

ANYWAY, i handed it in..and i got a call..to Cow-ing Town..Menglembu la..haha..

went for lunch there..@ 钻石咖哩粉 (erm i think the shop’s name is diamond curry noodle?)

had their famous curry noodle there although they also have many other varieties of noodles(like laksa and etc)..i picked yellow noodle, the sengkuang pastry (my fav ok!), the fried fu chuk (soya skin),meatball and the stuffed and fried toufu..

it was just nice, tho not to the extend i exclaim here but yes, it was nicely done with their Chinese styled curry. (the watery bland kind)

 

the more surprised was the Iced Red Bean (recommended). i was actually half forced to order that although i thought of ordering a more clear kind of drink coz i was thirsty and hot. when the drink reached our table, it was more of purplish/dark rose coloured red bean ‘paste’ with snowy ice, apparently also layered with some evaporated milk. (the famous malaysian susu sejat)

one sip of it, OMG! it was just, a prefect combination! and its more fragrant i guess they added the dried mandarin orange skin inside. yum yum! and it was not too thick as i worried (i wanted more WATER!) but i did drink alot after i got home..heheh..

oh yea, sorry..no picture =( coz was busy eating!! heheh!! really nice..when’s the next huh? *hint*

*  hah! i kinda love their products more, like japanese’s…..there’s dont know how many products i love from them…..*mental note: go super shopping at 100Yen and times square when i have my money back! =p

anyway, here’s a recipe i got from the net, it works very well and taste so good (to me =D )

its actually sesame chicken but i dont have sesame with me so its just the sauce but hey, its nice ! =D

again, i dont have the picture ‘coz i’ve eaten XD

anyway:

 

marinade chicken pieces for at least 39 min with:

chicken stock (granulated or thick ones)

pinch of salt

stash of sugar

pepper

sesame oil

 

prepare batter using:

egg (beaten)

flour and corn starch to thicken

some oil

pinch of salt

water to let it flow if it gets too thick

 

sauce, the best part:

3 tbsp of honey

2 tbsp of sugar

pinch of salt

2 tbsp of ketchup

1 tbsp of vinegar

(i dont think it needs any water)

 

 

SO, just fry the chicken coated with the batter and heat up the sauce and mix!! =D

 

if i have wine and sesame it would be much batter i guess.

but *that fella* complained of too much flour and made the coating so thick =_=

but i love the coating! *sigh*…..i guess i ‘ll just fry it dry next time Xp

it's china town where we got down from metro 12, towards opposite row of shops from kota raya....

and just beside the living cabin(the shop next to watson) , he pulled my bag and turned me up to a flight of stairs with 'c' and 'u' stickers all over it...


the place was full of posters, stickers, news cutting, messages, hand scribbles and alot others...

you can actually write some messages and post it there...the cafe owner even did some news cutting to alert the teenagers about those dangers nowadays and etc etc...so caring right?

the most appealing part was that down there,it was the ever-bustling AND NOISY pudu, while the place up above is totally like another place...


the place actually caters to the city students around that area, including the confusious, la salle, xun ren etc...

from the small talk with the cafe owner, she actually has a big heart in serving the students, giving the students a place to meet up and hang around...although she is disappointed at how the majority of the students are now...(very caring)

and i guess ahe close at 4 or 5 pm to force the students to go home and eat mum's dinner...haha...

alright alright...here's what we have first....

my ice lemon tea and fried ice cream>>>>>>[and also MY turn to scribble down something here...heheh...unique isn't it?]

and see THIS!!>>>>> *cruch!*

one bite and i feel amazed...the outer-crispy layer was buttery crisp, and needless to say,teh sweet and going-to-melt-in-your-mouth ice cream...

after my 'short interview' with the cafe owner, i know that the outer layer was actually gardenia bread(and no other brands) because it's the best, and no holes in it, and won't burn so fast.

you had to seal the ice cream using the starch, then 'set' it in the freezer again.(not to br fried immediately!) when you need it, take it out to the 'very' hot oil to fry for exactly five seconds. i repeat: FIVE SECONDS.

and because their frying oils are fresh, you can feel the buttery aroma and taste when you eat it.

[because the bread is made from milk, and thus,only the fresh oil can give it that taste and aroma.]

oh! but, i've got to tell you about the food. it's ALL HOME-COOKED STYLE...i can feel the warmth in it although my cheese spaghetti should be a very normal dish.>>>>>>>>>>>

the tomato-spaghetti sauce is not too much, but it was added with a generous amount of cheese to let you Feel it..yum!!!^^

next came this very special taiwanese sha-cha sauce chiken rice...

the sauce is extremely expensive, a small tub of 30-40 ringgits..=='' and the taste just can't be imitate but so nice!!!! it's a lil peppery,salty and herby as well...haha...

*Aaron's* milk shake(honey dew i guess?forgot..hehe..)

'the pyramid' he ordered after the meal...some sort of meaty bity fillings, wrapped with the soya skin..accompanied by the thai sweet chilli dip...=='' very full...

and i can tell you the cok with heart,serve with heart...it's definitely a place to hang out....

*prices: considered not expensive, RM6-RM15++ depending on what you order, drinks from RM3 onwards
