Lumut Naval Base it is

myspace layouts, myspace codes, glitter graphics

hmmm....i was wondering ..whether i should put the kids' pic of the previous outings..you know they are so vulnerable..urgh..

ANYWAY,

we sent my 1st younger brother to the naval base in lumut yesterday, which made me soooo tired...

still,i got alot of 'bits' from the father and son's conversation...

one of them is that for their 'weekend outing/leave' , they cant go anywhere further than 48km (that is, around ayer tawar, sitiawan, lumut itself...we also passed by tronoh and the Universiti Teknologi MARA UiTM and the payar bakau..kekee..im not forgetting my geography am i?)

and if anything that needs roll call or whatever(like foreign navy visiting and so on,even procession), there will be a 4 hour notice.

so this 'humble' daughter asked, so my brother should be able to go back home since it's only 1hr++ to ipoh.

But dad said, NO. BECAUSE, the so called notice is a truck 'annoucing' the notice going around the towns that i had mentioned adn fetching their fellow 'warriors' along the way....

.
.
.
.
. so....it's like...like in the Tv, during the war times....

leftenant commander: yo mate! you're on! come on in!
cadet: yes sir!
wife: do you really have to do this?
cadet: duty call sweety...i have to..for our home...

*puke*

ok...something like that...

SO

ihn conclusion, he cant come back on weekends...

another thing that was so 'prominent' of ayer tawar is that there are SOOOOOO LOTS of those convents and chapels and big churches and halls....not forgetting ACS Sitiawan (their band was not bad too...)

the schools you get to see are St Francis, Ambrose (bla bla...) and so on...

and when this 'humble' daughter asked her mum again,
the answer was that there are a large popularity of christians and catholics there, but there's also masjid and temples anyway...

aHHhhHHHhh.....how can i forget the 'gong biang' , that's the local there...

it is those round pastry that was stuck to the EXTRA hot chinese EXTRA large water container(hence 'gong' ) to cook...so the pastry's hands was..erm...

note:Kompyang (pronounced as 'kom-pyang') (Chinese: 光饼; Pinyin: guāngbǐng; Foochow Romanized: Guŏng-biāng) is a hot biscuit with onions that is popular in Sitiawan, Sibu, Ayer Tawar in Malaysia or anywhere with Hockchiew (Fuzhou). It originates from the Fuzhou province of China.

It is made using lard, onions, salt and flour. A ball of flour is stuffed with the other ingredients and flattened with a rolling pin, then it is slapped onto the sides of a homemade traditional Chinese oven. Meat are also usually, but not necessarily, stuffed in-between the biscuits. The biscuits take approximately 15 minutes to bake. -wikipedia

so,it was really crispy when just out if the 'oven'.(yup, eat while stil HOT)...with the savoury fillings inside...

*sorry* no pics from myself, all in my stomach..kakakaka!!!

but nowadays its really hard to find anymore...just few are still going...

of course,we went to visit some ex-navy(yup, mum and dad's friends, ALWAYS, one teacher one navy)

tasting the noodles and dragon fruit juice after we failed to find the red rice wine and chicken mee suah we were looking for...

at last...we reached the base...

ahem,it was quite tense actually...all those security checking and all...

but we got in..(there's an ex-navy plus a cadet in our car..ok?)

this is the residential area, where we stay before...

we got the visitor pass(class C), passed by the POTERA(polis tentera),
went to the temple..

ha! that's where they hide their phones! or 'keep' i should say..for the cadets...

then, passed by the KD PELANDOK training centre(dad was trained at the then WOODLANDS)

and my camera was instantly pushed down by my brother...

bro: take that! fast!before passign through the building!
bro:ok!down!!!!(pushed my camera down)

note:we're not suppposed to be taking pictures! remember the OSA?or ISA? i GUESSED it was to do with that...so i am taking a risk letting you guys see what it is inside...

anyway,we reached KDSI 1 - Kolej Diraja Sultan Idris 1 (i guess?)

i cant take pics..that potera is looking...

and we got ANOTHER pass, got in and unloaded.

simple fare well and off we go back. =)

edit: some pictures were taken off due to security reasons.
